5th Annual Water Quality & Resource Conservation Forum

NOTICE!

The conduct of the LGWC's 5th Annual Forum on Water Quality, Resource Conservation and Watershed Protection has been scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 13th, 2009.

WHEN:                 Tuesday, October 13th 2009 , 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

WHERE:               Fort William Henry Conference Center, Lake George, NY

WHAT:                  Once again, this year, the LGWC Annual Forum is being held to provide all who live, work, recreate, and/or has an interest in the Lake George Watershed, and opportunity to learn about and discuss issues that face Lake George, as well as how to become better stewards of the lake.  Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the coordinated efforts of the LGWC member organizations to protect and preserve the lake's water quality and surrounding natural resources.  In particular the focus topic of this year's Forum will focus on the critical nature of uplands water courses and how their protection directly impacts the water quality of the lake proper.  As the LGPC is considering the adoption of stream corridor management regulations, it is critical that all constituents recognize the importance of protecting and preserving stream buffers and riparian water courses that feed into the lake.

WHY ATTEND:    It's Your Watershed!  Whether you are a local leader, a community representative, or an individual interested in how to become a better steward of the lake, this Forum will cover issues affecting your watershed that in turn, affect you.  The forum will cover an array of issues ranging from storm water management, invasive species, and water-based recreation to water quality and watershed protection.  This forum will also offer local planning & zoning board members the opportunity to partake in newly identified annual training requirements.  The full agenda of items to be covered, can be viewed and printed by following the link above.

WHO:                     This Forum is open to the public and anyone who lives, works, recreates or has in interest in the Lake George Watershed.  All are encouraged to attend!  (However...advance registration is required.  If you have not already done so, simply email your intention to attend to lg2000@nycap.rr.com.)
